Below you will find more details about our San Francisco trip itinerary:
Student groups start their school trip day one with traveling to the beautiful city of San Francisco. The first attraction on our itinerary visits the famous Golden Gate Bridge park! This bridge opened in 1937 and suspends 1.7-miles between San Francisco and Marin counties. The park itself offers a welcome center with exhibits, purchasable merchandise and a beautiful view!
As the day continues, students are given an opportunity to visit San Francisco's Chinatown neighborhood. Chinatown is located in the center of Grant Avenue and Stockton Street. This neighborhood is the oldest Chinatown in North America, as well as the largest known Chinese community outside of the continent of Asia! The Dragon Gate is the perfect school trip group photo backdrop. With the Dragon Gate being the entry point to Chinatown, this is the oldest street in San Francisco. A perfect first stop in this unique cultural experience neighborhood.
Day two is filled with memories of iconic San Francisco attractions. The California Academy of Sciences is among the largest museums of natural history in the world! Students are given the opportunity to visit this museum, which was completely rebuilt in 2008. Located at the heart of the Golden Gate Park, the Academy offers students of all ages a scientific expedition through the museum! From creature closeups to hands-on learning, the museum offers an exhibit for any visitor. Trip organizers that are planning a school trip to San Francisco can also check out the virtual tours and workshops offered directly on The California Academy of Sciences website.
The itinerary continues to the famous Painted Ladies and Fisherman's Wharf. Student groups visiting the Painted Ladies enjoy one of the most photographed locations in San Francisco. A grassy square in one of the 11 historic districts, offers a stunning backdrop of skyscrapers and Victorian houses.
Day three of the itinerary features an one of the kind experience for school trips visiting San Francisco. The San Francisco Cable Car system is the last working system of this type of transportation in the world! An unbeatable view of San Francisco as the underground cable is in constant motion. The cable car system was built in 1873 and has undergone numerous changes from earthquakes and debates. The cable car system is also the only mobile National Monument in the world!
To end the school trip, students visit the observation deck of Coit Tower. A white concrete column perching from the top of Telegraph hill, has become an iconic part of the San Francisco skyline since 1933. This attraction provides a school trip 360-degree views of the city and bay. Trip organizers can choose to include a guided group tour of Coit Tower, which includes a docent-led tour of the murals and tower.
