Itinerary

  • Arrive in DC
  • White House Walk - see the home of the future President from the South Lawn and the North side on Lafayette Park
  • See the Washington Monument up close. Learn of the history behind the tallest structure in DC dedicated to our First President
  • Visit the WWII Memorial
  • Visit the Museum of American History
Senator package/optional Red White & Cruise Youth Inauguration Ball with surprise guest ($125 per person)
  • Have a great group dinner at Buca Di Beppos
  • Visit the Memorials part 1 from the Viet-Nam Memorial, the Korean War Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial
  • Depart for your hotel and check-in
  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Board your bus and departure for DC
  • Arrive at the Capitol and security check
  • Visit the US Capitol (access to be determined - we recommend contacting your Congressman/woman early)
  • Walk to the National Archives
  • See the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights
  • Lunch at the Ronald Reagan Building
  • Visit the Holocaust Museum
  • Visit the Museum of Air and Space
  • Depart from DC as road closures may come into effect

January 20 - Inauguration Day

Motor coach restrictions:
Motorcoaches will have restricted access in the city - motorcoaches will be parked at RFK stadium and groups will subway to the Mall- see our Presidential Inauguration Class Trip Handbook
Weather
CAUTION - IT WILL BE COLD - STUDENTS WILL HAVE TO BE PATIENT AS ACCESS TO RESTROOMS IS LIMITED AND THE RESTRICTED SECURITY AREA IN TICKETED
GENERAL STANDING ZONES ARE ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS - STUDENTS NEED TO STAY WITH THEIR GROUPS AND TEACHERS & CHAPERONES

Students will be asked to dress warmly and to wear to their  GO Red, White and Blue Inauguration Gear:

- Bracelet/Lanyard
  • 8:30 am - Security check - 3 stages
Reserved tickets (standing or sitting)
  • 12:00 pm  - The President Elect will take the Oath of Office
 “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
  • 12:30 pm- The Inauguration address by the new President
  • 2:00 pm -Timing can vary but the President will proceed to the Parade route on Pennsylvania avenue
Post Inauguration activities
  • Thousands of people will be in attendance. It will be important for all students to pay careful attention to ALL instructions and carry their meeting points on their phone or have a printed copy with them
  • Post Inauguration activities may mean a return to the motorcoach - by foot or subway
  • The best alternative is to disperse to the West toward Arlington - cross the Memorial Bridge and visit Arlington Cemetery
  • Evening Dinner - TBD
  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Check-out and board your bus and departure for DC
  • Visit Mount Vernon
