Top Stops For Montreal and Quebec City Class Trips

While there are many cities in Canada that are known for their rich history and plentiful educational benefits, Montreal and Quebec City are hard to beat. It can be difficult to pick out just which stops to make on your Montreal and Quebec City class trips, but we've done some of the work for you - here are our top picks to get a glimpse of the Old World when visiting.

1. The Plains of Abraham

For the history buffs in your class, the Plains of Abraham are a stunning introduction to some of Canada's richest history. What do we like about it? It was Canada's first National Park, and is over 100 years old. Any student with a passion for battle history will want to know more about the 1759 between Wolfe and Montcalm that took place here.

2. The Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré

Canada is lush with architectural Goliaths, but the Basilica of St. Anne is well-loved for its beauty and the yearly pilgrimage that so many take to see it - don't forget to get a look at the Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré Shrine while you're there!

3. Montmorency Falls Park

This is the place to go for your outdoor science class. A breathtaking natural wonder, the falls reach a staggering 83 meters high, and offer multiple hikes around their shores, gondola rides, and even zip lines for your more adventurous students.

4. Wendake

A self-governed territory, is home to the Huron-Wendat, a First Nation. Your students will have the opportunity to view an authentic reconstruction of a Huron village, walk through a home that was lived in by village Chiefs in the early 1800s, and visit galleries and craft shops flushed with art made by local artists and artisans who live in Wendake.

5. The Musee des Beaux-Arts

This will be the crown jewel for your art and art history lovers. Montreal's largest art museum, and one of the most prominent in Canada, houses art from the world's earliest humans all the way up to the digital age. Keep an eye out for the museums Family Weekends, when they offer "hands on" tours of certain collections.

We hope this list has inspired you to explore the wonder and beauty of Montreal and Quebec City! Take a look out our Quebec itinerary to learn more!
